Born in 1991, Daniel Ciobanu completed his Master’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland last year, following on from a First class honours degree at the same institution, under the tutelage of Aaron Shorr, Petras Geniusas and Steven Osborne.
2016 was altogether a notable year for Daniel with competition success at the UNISA international piano competition in Pretoria (First prize) and the BNDES international piano competition in Rio de Janeiro (First Prize). He also won the First prize at the Sheepdrove Competition, where each of the eight majorUKconservatoires present theirbest pianists for critical review.
In performance, he completed a concert tour of China at the behest of Bechstein last September; opened the Fazioli concert series in Sacile, Italy in November and in March this year toured South Africa with six concerts in 8 days.
Daniel now lives in Berlin and studies at the prestigious “Universitat der Kunste” under the tutelage of Pascal Devoyon. He travels each month to Paris for the “Concertiste Diplome” in the Ecole Normale de Musique, having last year obtained success in the “6eme Diplome d’Execution” with “l'unanimité et lesfelicitations du jury”.
